Common Questions
- I don’t like X about myself, but I just can’t seem to change. I feel stuck can you help me?
I have spoken to many people who feel stuck in a rut and don’t know how to change something about their life. Sometimes problems are deep seated and need specialised help like counselling and other therapies, however often people need someone to be a sounding board. I can be that objective listener for you and make suggestions for you as a mentor or work with you as a life coach.
- What is my purpose? Have you ever looked at your life and asked yourself the question is this it?
I am a person of faith and I work with people of all/any faith and none. Whatever your world view is most people agree that during their lives they want to make a positive contribution to the world. I can help you to recognise your own world view and moral values so that you can formulate a life for yourself that reflects what you believe.
- How can I make a difference?
I don’t believe that we should compare our lives to others but that we should find what we do best and excel in those things to benefit others. Quite often when you are asked the right questions you will find that you have already made a difference to someone or something. You’ll be surprised!
- I didn’t do well at school I can’t speak to others, and I don’t have anything to say?
Our negative experiences of education system can cause us to feel trapped. Often, we didn’t realise our full potential in school because of various circumstances. Whatever the causes let’s focus on what you can do now. An online course perhaps or returning to formal education. I have short courses that you can try to get you plan your next steps towards your goal. I also have a coaching and mentoring service to help you formulate a strategy.
- I have missed the boat, should I have done something sooner?
Necessity is the mother of invention, is a useful saying. I have gone back to education numerous times in my life, and I am currently doing a part - time PhD. It is never too late to start something new. I have several friends who have started new businesses in their later years having taken the gamble and leaving well paid secure employment. You might not want to do that, but we live in an age of opportunity. Let’s explore what is out there for you.
- I want to do something, but I don’t I have time? For example, I’m only a mum, my hands are tied with the responsibilities of my family.
The responsibility is real and a heavy one and for some that season is one that they will give all their time and attention to. However, for others they have the capacity and support that enables them to explore other projects whilst bringing up their family. If you need help to see how you can add a new venture, I can help you to see where you perhaps have the time to do so. Or perhaps make plans for the different seasons ahead?
- Are you ready for a change in lifestyle but not sure what?
You need a critical friend who can listen you and ask you the right questions to help you get on track. Book a discovery call and let’s get started.
- Mentoring and Coaching services are expensive and a huge commitment that I can’t afford?
I agree with most practitioners that people who want to make changes in their lives need to invest hours of their time to address their personal needs. The coaching and mentoring process works in partnership which you commit to. I believe that you can decide how much help you need. Sometimes three sessions are all you need to get you on track, others will need more support over a minimum of three months. You will see the progress you are making and commit to booking your coaching appointments as you progress on your journey.
